Antique Persian Kashan Mortachem Wool Kork Rug - Late 19th Century
Persian rug, attributed to the Kashan Mortachem workshop, dating from the late 19th century. Made from lambskin kork wool, renowned for its finesse and quality, it rests on a cotton structure (warp, weft and bangs).
The decoration features an ivory field adorned with delicate floral motifs in pastel shades, sublimated by a central blue medallion. The whole is framed by a midnight-blue main border embellished with ivory motifs, offering a harmonious and refined contrast.
The knotting density, estimated at between 9,000 and 9,500 knots per dm², testifies to precise and meticulous work.
