The bodies, in a rare deep pink ground, are enhanced by large hand-painted cartouches featuring delicate floral compositions of great chromatic freshness. In the lower part, charming 18th-century-inspired gallant scenes unfold in continuous friezes, treated with finesse and lightness in a spirit close to Watteau's iconography.
The ensemble is magnified by rich gilded ornamentation: sinuous frames, foliate friezes and delicately executed highlights underscore the elegant lines of the pieces. The gilded bronze handles, with scrolls and decorated attachments, add sculptural presence and a precious contrast to the softness of the porcelain.
The lids, topped with pinecone-shaped grips, rest on necks belted with gilt-bronze beaded friezes, further accentuating the luxurious character of the ensemble. The bases, also mounted in ormolu, provide a stable foundation and reinforce the decorative harmony.
Very good condition, with a remarkable presentation. The ensemble is captivating in its balance, decorative richness and quality of execution.
