The frame features a profile articulated across several mouldings: the rebate opens onto a central band carved with continuous vegetal motifs, with recurring leaves alternating with bead elements, connecting toward the exterior through a plain cavetto and a carved outer profile. The gilding, applied over a preparation ground, has developed a uniform brown patina consistent with the age of the piece. The decorative repertoire and profile structure are characteristic of 17th century Lombard frame production.
