Artist: Jacques Villeglé
ORIGINAL WORK BY JACQUES VILLEGLÉ, signed with his initials and dated December 2002.
One of the few slate works created by the artist and given to his close friends and family while he was working on La Mémoire insoluble, one of his most monumental works. Completed in 2008, on the occasion of the retrospective exhibition “La Comédie urbaine” held at the Centre Pompidou, La Mémoire insoluble consists of 237 slate panels and a school desk on a platform.
This slate panel accompanies the first edition of the exhibition catalog from the Musée de Sainte Croix in Poitiers in 2003, Villeglé - Alphabet Socio-Politique.
