Personalized Septarian Nodule On Foot
Magnificent cross-section of a septate nodule on a metal base. Septarian nodules are fossilized mud bubbles dating from around 50 to 70 million years ago. Belgium is a major discovery site for these objects.
Scientists disagree on the origin of the internal shape. One hypothesis is the expansion/contraction of bubbles due to gas trapped inside that cannot escape.
This specimen is large in size. The color palette is fantastic, with grayish, earthy and sandy areas creating a soothing atmosphere.
Dimensions: 52H x 45W x 11P
Without base:
46H x 37W x 5P
