19th-century Bronze Tazza

An elegant Pompeian-style tazza made of bronze and slate, designed by the famous French sculptor Ferdinand Levillain (1837–1905) in collaboration with Ferdinand Barbedienne.

The tazza is adorned with a bas-relief medallion in the “Neo-Greek” or “Pompeian” style, depicting the classical scene in which Zeus presents Pandora with a sealed jar or chest. It features detailed neoclassical handles adorned with volutes.
