René Théophile Clozier was a French architect trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, a pupil of Alphonse Defrasse. Parallel to his career as an architect, he developed an activity as a painter, mainly focused on landscapes.

He exhibited notably at the Salon d'Automne and with the "Ligne et Couleur" group in the 1930s. His painting is part of a post-academic tradition, attentive to composition and light effects.

His work, relatively confidential, reflects a measured sensibility and a personal approach to landscape, at the crossroads of architecture and painting.
