with flat backs known as "à la reine" in molded beech, carved with fluting, white lacquered and rechambered.
Curved seat "en fer à cheval" with truncated-conical legs, baluster arm supports resting on a fluted stop set back from the front legs.
Fabric upholstery in "the taste of China" decorated with a vegetal landscape animated with waders and butterflies.
Twentieth-century decorative work, shafts and trim in very good condition.
Height. 90 cm / width 64.3 cm / seat depth (with trim) 51.5 cm.
These bergères were made in the taste of Parisian models from the very last years of the reign of Louis XVI.

For the record...
According to the Havard, the first rechambered seats appeared at court around 1760.
In the "Inventaire général des meubles de la couronne" produced in 1762, it is described in the room occupied by Mme de Pompadour at the Château de Saint Hubert: "two armchairs and six chairs with damask-covered backs... the woods carved and with moldings, rechampis vert et blanc".
