Louis XV Carved And Openwork Walnut Console
Superb, elegant console table in carved walnut from the 18th century. The front rests on 2 strongly arched legs, richly carved with foliage. They end in a scroll and are linked by a bouquet of carved, openwork flowers. The curved front is entirely carved and openworked with flowers and foliage decorated with acanthus leaves, laurel wreaths and fire pots. The top of the console base is openwork, which is a rarity, and the sides are also curved and adorned with foliage and flowers carved into the openwork crosspieces. The whole piece is covered in turquoise-blue marble, scalloped and molded. Superb carving throughout. The originality of this piece lies in its openwork carving and pronounced curves, all original and in perfect condition.
