Artist: Fernand Fernel
Original watercolor depicting a bar scene in the early 20th century, by Fernand FERNEL (1865-1933) Fernand Fernel dit Fernel, born Ferdinand Cerckel in Brussels and died in Dinard, was a Belgian painter, illustrator and poster artist. He was a popular humorist illustrator, producing numerous postcards (including the collection des cent) and coloring books. This watercolor shows a man seducing a young woman in the foreground, and dancing figures in the background. The watercolor's colors have remained very luminous and the lively scene has great appeal.
