Watercolor

Artist: Fernand Fernel
Original watercolor depicting a bar scene in the early 20th century, by Fernand FERNEL (1865-1933) Fernand Fernel dit Fernel, born Ferdinand Cerckel in Brussels and died in Dinard, was a Belgian painter, illustrator and poster artist. He was a popular humorist illustrator, producing numerous postcards (including the collection des cent) and coloring books. This watercolor shows a man seducing a young woman in the foreground, and dancing figures in the background. The watercolor's colors have remained very luminous and the lively scene has great appeal. Signed lower right, this quality work in very good condition is presented under glass in an antique frame.
