Large Louis XVI Ormolu Cartel H 90cm

Large Louis XVI style ormolu cartel with midnight-blue enamel dial and white numerals. Surmounted by a covered vase framed by fire pots, its gendarme-cap pediment holds a drape from which emerges the dial framed by acanthus leaves. Beneath this, a garland of flowers gives a glimpse of the pendulum behind its glass. At the base, this cartel ends with a feminine mascaron framed by acanthus leaves and surmounted by a lambrequin.
This cartel, based on a Louis XVI model from the 19th century, houses a functional Parisian movement without striking.
Good condition, some light wear to the gilding on the protruding parts visible on the photos. Two light pots are missing from the back at the top of the cartel, with no effect on the overall aesthetics of the cartel
