Initially a pupil of Diday, he came to Bordeaux in 1867. In his paintings, he liked to depict motifs from the South of France and its coasts. He exhibited frequently in Geneva, Lyon and Bordeaux, and at the Paris Salons from 1861 onwards.
Cf Benezit Edition Gründ 1966.
A large and beautiful mature work by Amédée Baudit, representing a still life with flowers, the canvas and frame are original. The painting is excellently executed, both in terms of composition and the struggle between vertical and horizontal, and in terms of the chromatic palette employed, reinforced by the great presence of matter.
