Jacques DAUFIN was born in Saint-Lo (Manche) on May 24, 1930, and graduated from the Oran School of Fine Arts. He moved to Paris in 1948.
He took part in numerous group exhibitions: Le Salon de la Jeune Peinture, le Salon des Indépendants, le Salon d'Automne ..
From 1955, he divided his time between Paris, Oran and the Algerian desert. He took part in decorating a theater in Oran, painted a fresco in the cathedral crypt and was awarded the Prix Rotary Club de Nice. He exhibited at the Suillerot gallery in Paris and the Romanet gallery from 1960.
