Henri Dasson ____
His talent was widely recognized by his contemporaries: he won awards at every exhibition he took part in. At the 1878 Universal Exhibition, the international jury awarded him a gold medal. Four years later, at the 1882 Exposition des Arts Décoratifs, he again received this distinction and was made a Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur.
Considered one of the great cabinetmakers and bronzemakers of the second half of the 19th century, Henry Dasson drew his inspiration from the masterpieces of the past, particularly those of the Louis XVI style. His creations, richly decorated with bronzes, marquetry and lacquer panels, appealed to a wealthy international clientele and are now attracting renewed interest from 19th-century art lovers
