Helen Frazer Rock Manufacture Wedgwood , Young Girl With An Owl
Born in Wimbledon, Helen Frazer Rock trained at the prestigious Royal Academy (1904-1907), where she won several prizes for her talent. An active member of the English art scene, she exhibited at the Royal Academy and the International Society of Sculptors, Painters and Engravers. Her work is distinguished by a delicate mastery of form and a unique ability to breathe life into materials, whether bronze or porcelain. In this bas-relief of a young woman in communion with an owl, the artist creates a magnificent contrast between the purity of the porcelain bisque and the dark green patina of the background. An emblem of clairvoyance, wisdom and intuition, the bird here embodies the creative force. It represents this journey through the night, this sometimes disquieting inner space where the spirit's projects and quests are born...
