Louis XV Period Chest Of Drawers

Louis XV period grave chest of drawers in violet wood veneer opening on the front with three drawers in three rows separated by exposed crosspieces embellished with a brass fillet.

This chest of drawers features a very fine curve in both planes on the front, the sides themselves curved in both planes, a brass fillet separating the top panel from the bottom panel.

The marquetry features a decoration of reserves and fillets framing a violet wood frieze laid in "butterfly wings", with the sides featuring the same decoration.

Drawer rails inlaid with brass fillet.

This commode features very fine ornamentation of gold varnished and chased bronzes, drop handles, apron, falls, sabots, lock escutcheons.

Belgian Rance red marble top, a marble widely used in furniture and fireplaces in the 17th and 18th centuries; marble very present at the Château de Versailles.

This chest of drawers is mounted on spruce, case and drawer fronts, all drawer bottoms and sides are in walnut.

It is in excellent overall condition
