She belongs to the Metz School (1830-1870), demonstrating extreme sensitivity and refinement in her intimate pastels.
It is generally agreed that she produced around 130 works and this pastel is a rare and precious example .of her talent.
She exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1844 to1853 and was awarded a gold medal in July 1853.
She exhibited at the 1853 Salon two still lifes with flowers, which were acquired by Empress Eugénie
The museums of Metz and Troyes keep some of her works in their collections.
