Empire Period Coffee Pot In Fine Porcelain.
Empire period coffee pot in fine porcelain. Dating to the early 19th century, French-made, hard-paste porcelain, hand-painted with rich gilding. Characterized by a slender and harmonious line, the ovoid body rests on a ring foot. The spout, modeled in the shape of a stylized animal head, clearly neoclassical in style, and the contoured handle give the piece a strong decorative character. The upper band features refined hand-painted ornamental motifs, with stylized plant elements and palmette motifs in shades of purple, black, gray, and yellow, typical of the neoclassical decorative repertoire. A second, more sober decorative band runs along the lower part of the body. The lid, contemporary but not original to the coffee pot, is in perfect stylistic and chromatic harmony, with a gilded pinnacle-shaped knob. Excellent overall condition, with no obvious structural damage. The lid, while not original, is period and well-fitting.
