Vignerons Alsaciens: Pair Of Large Barrel Locks With Dolphins, 19th Century

Powerful, thick fruitwood barrel door locks, carved each of two opposing dolphins intertwining  tails.
Probably Alsatian vineyard, 19th century.
Our barrel locks are very large: 61cm x 32cm, massive :thickness 8.5cm, large carving pieces, 7kg les 2 ! Expensive to export... 
The decoration comes from the legend of Bacchus, whose journey was accompanied by dolphins and mermaids...
Condition is good. They have been used, as can be seen from wear on axle hole...
Normal wear, almost no wormholes.
On back, wall attachments from the lastlast owner, (an estate in Nîmes region), who also metal-plated metal cente hole.
