Tilting Pedestal Table In Boiled Cardboard, 19th Century
Boiled cardboard pedestal table with a circular scrolled tilting top, inlaid with mother-of-pearl and gilded foliate motifs, the center of which is decorated with a painted scene depicting characters sailing on a small boat in a bucolic landscape. It stands on a baluster foot terminating in a tripod base, also scrolled, decorated with gilded leaves and scrolls.
Craquelures to the top.
Partly faded gilding in places.
Good overall condition.
During the Napoleon III period.
