Louis XV Period Commode Seat Attributed To Nogaret
Artist: Pierre Nogaret
Rare and elegant Louis XV period carved and molded walnut caned commode seat attributed to Pierre Nogaret, original painting. Perfectly stable and in good condition, old restoration on the right front leg. Rack in good condition (slight dent at rear). Complete interior with three compartments.
Lyon work by Pierre NOGARET (not stamped), probably produced around 1762-1763.
Nogaret probably used a base of "catalog" cabriolets that he mass-produced.
The cabriolets equivalent to this toilet seat are:
- Nogaret_0249 : Vente Aguttes, Lyon du 18.06.2016. Nogaret stamp verified and validated by O W.
- Nogaret_0434 : Lafarge/Massol sale, Paris Drouot 18.12.2006, lot n°115. Stamp validated by BD, 16.12.2006.
