O.S. (Oscar Seignol)mechanical dashboard watch, 4-day model (power reserve indicated on dial), authentic 1920s French automotive timepiece.

Dial markings: "4 JOURS" - "BTE S.G.D.G." - "O.S." - "ATELIERS SEIGNOL 17, RUE DURET - PARIS"

These O.S. Seignol watches were offered as an option for several pre-war French cars, including the Citroën 5 HP (Type C / Torpédo) of 1924 and the Citroën B14. They also equipped other luxury or sports models of the period (Delage, Salmson, etc.). This is a perfectly authentic piece to restore or complete the dashboard of a 1920-1925 Citroën 5 CV or any French automobile of the Art Deco period.

This clock has been overhauled by a watchmaker: it works well, winds and adjusts correctly and holds its 4-day power reserve .
The movement is sound, without any trace of oxidation, the balance wheel turns with regularity and the set is ready to be reassembled on an antique car.

Warning, the axis of the watch is horizontal, for a conversion into an office object, the movement to be printed (to throw it) will be the same as for an officer's clock, i.e. horizontal from right to left.
If the watch is mounted directly on the vehicle, it will run when driving, unless it is not fixed to the dashboard, in which case the movement described above will have to be printed...

Good condition, beautiful period patina, slight oxidation of the chrome, a good polish will make all these small flaws disappear, no major flaws on the dial or case. It has been cleaned, oiled and adjusted. Works well.
