An old label on the back of the stretcher shows:
A date "1779" and the words "Antwerp".
Condition: to be restored.
Dimensions with frame: H 82.5 x W 71 cm.
After leaving Copenhagen for Paris, where he practiced his art as a portraitist from 1780 for about five years, Lorentzen stopped off in Antwerp, where he painted this portrait.
