Adorable 18k (750°/°°) yellow gold purse pendant holding a small fine pearl pendant. While côte de maille bouses porte louis are quite common, those of this size are particularly sought-after. Our example is a little later than those regularly seen from the 1900s. It shows the first signs of Art-Deco workmanship, with the upper part of the purse decorated with a geometric cut-away design, which dates it to around 1920. Presence of the charançon hallmark in an oval cartouche for works in 18-carat gold imported into France.
