Antique Umbrella - France, Circa 1850 - Excellent Condition
Charming mid-19ᵉ century umbrella, whose silk canvashas been replaced by new silk, ensuring its impeccable condition possible today.
The handle is carved bone on the lower part, while the topThe handle is carved bone on the lower part, while the upper part is wood. The parasol features two ingenious systems typical of the period:
- A metal ring at the topto tilt the parasol when open.
- A central ring to fold the parasol in half, making itthe umbrella in two, for easy storage or access to a carriage.
It measures 25,98 inches long when closed and approximately 19,68 inches in diameter when open.
