Swieykowski Navy Painting.
Artist: Alfred Swieykowski
Painting marine vue de côte au coucher du soleil by Alfred Swieykowski.
French painter of Polish origin born in Paris in 1869 and died in 1953. A pupil of Fernand Cormon, he took part in the Salon des Artistes Français from 1994 to 1924. He was awarded a silver medal at the 1937 Exposition Universelle.
Post-Impressionist painter, he evolved towards Fauvist painting.
This is a very fine painting, animated by the beautiful light of a late summer day. A very sensitive painting that bears witness to the great mastery of the artist, who signed his works when they were included in an exhibition, which is the case here.
Signature on the lower left by the artist
Frame size 38 by 32 cm.
Note a difficult-to-read inscription on the back.
A rare work on the market, it will delight a collector as well as an art lover
