Magnificent and large painting by Gabriel Charlopeau, born in 1889 in Fontenay-le-Comte and died in 1967 in Neuil-sur-Mer. A French painter, he studied under Fougerat at the Nantes School of Fine Arts. In 1920, he exhibited at the Salon d'Automne, then at the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts. In 1928, he stayed several times in Provence with the painter Jacques Nervat. In 1933, he spent the summer with Albert Marquet in Les Sables-d'Olonne. This is a beautiful representation of his immense talent, depicting a springtime Provençal landscape with Mont Sainte-Victoire and its blossoming trees. The canvas is signed and in very good condition! Splendid color palette! Remarkable painting technique! Beautiful Montparnasse frame! Dimensions: 89 x 78 cm with frame, 66 x 55 cm without.
