KHANJARLI DAGGER, WITH SHEATH.
India, 19th century
Steel, horn, wood, velvet, nickel silver.
Total length: 33 cm (without sheath) - Blade length: 21.5 cm
Steel blade, double-edged and double-curved, with a trilobed reinforcement at the base; central ridge and double fuller.
The handle consists of six bone plates riveted to the tang; a guard is present on one side, folded back at its end.
The scabbard is made of wood, covered in velvet, with two nickel silver fittings.
Good condition; scabbard likely of later date.
