Large circular medallion in patinated copper-plated metal depicting in high relief a park enlivened by a peacock, swans, and swallows. These figures move within a neoclassical setting of a staircase, columns, and a fountain. Framed in garnet velvet. Hanging hook on the back. Signed ARSON Alphonse Alexandre. Sculptor born in Paris on January 11, 1822, died around 1880. French School. A student of Combette, this artist exhibited at the Salon from 1859 to 1880 and executed a large number of bronze subjects representing barnyard birds, hens with their chicks, pheasants, partridges, etc. Second half of the 19th century. Very decorative. Medallion diameter: 31 cm. Diameter with frame: 45 cm.
