Louis XV Marquetry Chest Of Drawers, Marble Top
An elegant Louis XV style chest of drawers, veneered in rosewood and inlaid with chevron marquetry. The front features seven drawers, each framed with lemonwood stringing, providing a striking contrast to the veneer. The keyhole escutcheons and corner mounts are gilt bronze with foliate decoration. The sides are also veneered with chevron marquetry, maintaining a beautiful continuity of design. The cabriole legs rest on feet terminating in bronze sabots. The top is breccia marble in warm tones (ochre, red, and beige), in good condition.
