Low Sideboard In Solid Walnut, 18th Century
Louis XV period low sideboard in solid walnut. This piece dates from the Louis XV period, with influences from the Louis XIV style. To clarify: the "shell" feet at the bottom of the front legs, as well as the carvings on the lower rail, are typical of the Louis XV style. However, the symmetrical molding of the front and side panels is typical of the Louis XIV style. Therefore, we are looking at a piece made in the early Louis XV period. Little restoration was required, just thorough stripping and a beeswax finish. The patina is warm and nuanced, and the interiors have also been prepared, in this case with a glazed finish.
