Pair Of 1960s Fiberglass Angels From The Galli Theatre
Owning a piece of theatrical and design history is a rare privilege, and this great opportunity within my collection offers exactly that. We present an incredibly rare pair of 1960s fiberglass angels, coming directly from the prestigious stage of the Galli Theatre in Rimini.
These imposing sculptures, standing 120 cm high and 100 cm wide, were crafted for a special purpose: to support the clock on the stage. Their history is captivating: they are cast from the original molds designed by Architect Luigi Poletti, the mastermind behind the Galli Theatre. Poletti, a prominent figure of the second half of the 19th century, was the last architect of the Papal States, and these works carry his enduring legacy.
Their rarity is absolute: only two pairs were ever made in fiberglass. One pair is proudly displayed in the theatre in Rimini; this is the only other pair in existence! This exclusivity, combined with their historical significance and vintage aesthetic, makes them an invaluable investment for collectors. Furthermore, their majestic presence makes them ideal as statement decor for modern locations, clubs, bars, and restaurants, providing a unique and sophisticated atmosphere.
