Important and rare solid silver covered sugar bowl in the Restoration style, resting on a circular foot. The body has an elegant shape flanked by two scrolled side handles adorned with finely chased foliate motifs. The fitted lid is surmounted by a finial (handle knob) representing a basket of fruit and flowers, a symbol of abundance. The numerous hallmarks indicate: Belgian origin, period 1831-1868. Guarantee: Presence of the small hallmark around the rim. Silversmith's mark in a lozenge (to be identified). A dense, high-quality piece without flaws. Weight: 560g. Dimensions: Total height 15cm.
