Oak Storage Bench, Neo-gothic Style – Early 20th Century

This solid oak storage bench perfectly embodies the Neo-Gothic aesthetic, blending architectural rigor with abundant carved decoration. Its robust structure is adorned with a rich ornamental vocabulary inspired by Flamboyant Gothic: stylized floral motifs, radiating rosettes, deeply carved foliage, and geometric patterns inherited from medieval decor. The high back, punctuated by a row of turned balusters, is framed by uprights carved with scrolls and chimeras, surmounted by a central rosette surrounded by foliage. The armrests, also intricately crafted, rest on textured uprights that reinforce the characteristic verticality of the style. On the front, the storage compartment features two panels decorated with radiating rosettes and vegetal interlacing that enliven the front. Furthermore, the opening of the compartment reveals a generous and functional storage space. This oak bench reveals a beautiful depth of tone, highlighting the quality of the carving and the craftsmanship of the artisan.
