Carriage Trunk Dated 1617
A beautiful solid oak carriage trunk. It was originally likely covered in leather and studded; almost all of the studs are still present and are arranged in a very decorative pattern of baskets, flowers, and scrolls. The date 1617, corresponding to its date of manufacture, can be read on the front of the trunk. The wrought iron side handles and the hinges of the top are in good condition. The trunk is in very good condition. Note that the floor has been replaced with a wooden board.
