Bronze by Charles Cumberworth (1811-1852), an artist of English descent, born in Verdun. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts from an early age and was a regular member of the Salons from 1833 to 1848. This work is a contemporary cast by Susse, signed on the base "Cumberworth and Susse" (a firm founded in 1743) and bearing the Susse stamp on the reverse. The work has a nuanced brown patina. In perfect condition.
