Sèvres Soft-paste Porcelain Biscuit "the Spanish Oboe"

A soft-paste porcelain biscuit from Sèvres, depicting a young woman reading while watching a young man play an oboe; a dog and a little girl playing with a doll. 18th century. This group, created by Duret, is part of a set of seven figures entitled "The Spanish Conversation," which King Louis XV acquired as a gift for his granddaughter, the Princess of Asturias. Mesdames Victoire and Sophie, as well as Madame du Barry, also purchased pieces from the set. The young woman's right forearm is missing, as are the oboe and the young man's hands, which have some firing flaws.
