A circular decorative ceramic soup plate with a crackled beige background (creased glaze effect), decorated with a stylized design in vibrant enamels. The center features a period Art Deco motif: stylized floral designs in bright colors and a symmetrical composition. The rim is decorated with a regular frieze of oval and radiating motifs in the same tones. Glossy finish. Model D949. Signature on the reverse: Boch Frères La Louvière Ch. Catteau. Charles Catteau (1880–1966) was a major ceramist and designer of 20th-century Belgian ceramics, particularly associated with the Boch Frères Keramis factory located in La Louvière. Trained in France at the École Nationale de Céramique de Sèvres, he began his career in several factories before being hired by Boch Frères in 1906.
