Original terracotta sculpture by Georges Halbout du Tanney depicting a young Algerian or Oriental woman, nude. Signed "HALBOUT" on the base and titled "frileuse" under the base, circa 1930.
Georges Halbout du Tanney (1895, Paris – 1986, Bourdeilles), a student of Jean Boucher at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, became a resident at the Villa Abd-el-Tif in Algiers, where he received a prize in 1929. He later taught at the Société des Beaux-Arts in Algiers.

Base : 10.5 x 7.5 cm.
