each composition depicts a woodland walk crossed by a stream, animated by a small stone bridge. The scenes, bathed in soft light, convey a peaceful and romantic atmosphere, characteristic of 19th-century landscape painting. In one, a mother and her child are seen, along with two cows in the woods.
In the other, a solitary woman appears, accompanied by ducks crossing the river.
