Chinese Porcelain Cup Mounted On Gilt Bronze, 19th Century
A beautiful Canton porcelain bowl from China, decorated in the center with a bouquet of flowers and insects (butterflies and beetles), with scattered flowers on the rim, and in the reserves, a decoration of butterflies and birds perched on branches. The mount is gilt bronze with a fluted and twisted stem. The handles are Greek-style. A beaded frieze encircles the porcelain, and a garland of flowers decorates the lower part.
