Large Aubusson Rug In Empire/restoration Style - 410cm X 300cm
Artist: Manufacture D'aubusson, Attribué à
Large Aubusson rug from the early 20th century. Light in color, in shades of beige, tobacco, and coral, our rug features a beautiful neoclassical design in the Empire/Restoration style – scrolls and rosettes, bouquets, four laurel wreath medallions surrounding a monogram B, and in the center, a trophy of naturalistic floral wreaths. The Aubusson Manufactory has been renowned for the excellence of its production since the 17th century, particularly for its French rugs and tapestries. Initially Royal, then Imperial, and finally National, it supplied official palaces and prominent aristocratic families. An elegant piece, essential for a grand French-style interior. The effect of 18th-century chairs and furniture on a French rug is quite different from that of an Oriental rug. Good overall condition. The light colors (beige tones) will bring a great deal of light to the room in which this rug will be placed. The rug is originally a light color: it brightens and lightens a room, whereas large red rugs can feel heavier. It has no tears. Rare to find in this pristine condition. Length: 410cm Width: 300cm
