Louis XVI Style Glass-Fronted Bookcase, Napoleon III Period – Marquetry and Brass, Beveled Glass. This elegant Louis XVI style bookcase, with two glass doors, dates from the Napoleon III period (19th century). It is distinguished by its rich marquetry ornamentation of scrolling foliage and brass stringing, typical of the refinement of the Second Empire. The front is framed by colonnettes with metal rings, surmounted by a decorated entablature and topped with small bronze vases. The two doors are fitted with beveled glass, adding depth and elegance to the piece. The interior is fitted with shelves, ideal for use as a bookcase or display cabinet.
