Pair Of Limoges Enamels Signed Bernard Vergnaud.
Pair of Limoges Enamels Signed Bernard Vergnaud – Landscapes – Circa 1950. A pair of miniature painted enamels from Limoges, both signed Bernard Vergnaud – Limoges. The two works, created by the same artist, depict two decorative landscapes: a Mediterranean scene with a pergola opening onto the sea, enlivened by flowerpots and stone architecture, and a wooded landscape by the water, rendered in a luminous atmosphere. These enamel plaques are made according to the Limoges enamel tradition, a technique emblematic of the city and highly prized in the mid-20th century for decorative paintings. The miniatures are presented in their original molded and gilded wooden frames with hammered decoration, typical of the 1950s. Signature: Bernard Vergnaud – Limoges. Period: mid-20th century, circa 1950. Enamel plaques: approximately 20 cm × 5.5 cm. Frames: approximately 22 cm wide. Condition: Very good overall condition. Beautiful decorative pair of Limoges enamels.
