Probably a brush rest. Bronze sculpture with a chocolate patina. Origin: Tokyo, Japan. Fisherman depicting a crouching man holding a carp. Base with four cabriole feet, old assembly with slotted screws. Rectangular stamp, inscription (dai nippon seimatsu zo). Artist: Seimatsu, renowned foundryman of the late 19th century, specializing in scenes of daily life. Meiji era (1868-1912).
