Don Quixote Attack Scene Drawing Julio Viera
Artist: Julio Viera
Description
This original pen and ink drawing by Julio Viera presents a dynamic interpretation of Don Quixote mounted on a skeletal horse, charging toward windmill-like mechanical forms in an expressive composition. Executed with energetic, fluid linework, the scene combines figurative distortion with imaginative elements that suggest movement and tension. Inscribed text reads “El ataque de Don Quijote a los molinos atómicos” (The attack of Don Quixote on the atomic mills) and “Las Palmas de Gran Canaria” with the date “1-9-69,” anchoring the work in both place and time within a mid-20th-century expressive drawing tradition.
