Count's Crown - Flatware Set Of 2 X 16 Knives In Ebony And Solid Silver - Circa 1830
A 32-piece flatware set, comprising 16 table knives and 16 cheese knives in ebony and sterling silver. The cast steel blades have been chrome-plated to protect them from corrosion. The handles are inlaid with a shield engraved with a Count's coronet. Empire style work from the Restoration period, circa 1820. This is a very classic early 19th-century model, with ebony handles, bolsters, and a cartouche inlaid in sterling silver, easily matching any type of flatware set. The cartouche is engraved with a Count's coronet. A rare set for a table of 16, reflecting the lifestyle of the aristocracy in the early 19th century. Our knives are in good condition, with signs of use and slight variations in blade length (manufactured 200 years ago). Length: 24cm and 19cm
