Parchment 1561 Beziers - Land Exchange (puisserguier?) - Ma2
This document is a land exchange between a certain Pierre Levy, a bourgeois of Béziers, and Catherine Rogue and her son. It concerns an olive grove ("une olivette"), it seems, exchanged for a plot of land. A 19th-century archivist's note places the transaction in "Puissegnies"—this must be Puisserguier, which in Occitan was pronounced "Puègserguièr." The witnesses are Jehan Varelles (?) and Jacques Humbert. Jacques Borell (?). The notary is Jehan du Fran (?). The very loose handwriting makes a complete translation difficult. There are some traces of dampness and creases. A summary will be provided to the buyer.
