Mid-18th Century Pair Of Painted Wooden Candelabra
Refined
pair of candelabras, carved and sculpted from solid walnut, painted in lean
tempera. The two candle holders depict two young girls, with bare breasts and
tunics that reveal one leg. Each holds a torch, with a candle holder at the
top, in one arm. This is a unique and well-crafted pair: the candelabra and
especially the painting are in perfect condition, making them particularly
special, as this quality is rare to find. This pair, of great class and
elegance, will add a touch of taste and antiquity to any space. Made in Venice lagoon,
mid-18th century.
