Advertising letter holder from the Sarreguemines Faience Works, featuring a stove on the left and a toilet bowl on the right.
A rare piece in slipware. Writing desk with pen holder, inkwell, and letter rack, used for advertising purposes by the Sarreguemines Faience Works for the use and in the name of the distributors.
This example is in the name of C. DURIAU in Béziers, Hérault.
A communication tool par excellence, it showcases the range of Sarreguemines products: architectural elements, heating, floor tiles and wall coverings, and sanitary ware, with the bowl serving as an inkwell.
Rectilinear impressed mark: Sarreguemines.
Circa early 20th century, 1900, Art Nouveau. Length: 27 cm. Width: 16 cm. Height: 19 cm.
Model Number 3364, 227. Materials and techniques: Fine earthenware, feldspathic (white), slip-cast, majolica.
